Tinh Lac Vietnamese Vegetarian is a hidden little gem tucked away in an alleyway at the back of Inala Plaza. This small, local eatery offers an authentic and intimate atmosphere with just four tables, making it a quiet spot for those in the know. It stands out as a welcome vegan-friendly destination in an area with limited plant-based choices.
The menu features traditional Vietnamese dishes at reasonable prices, with all but one dish that are either vegan or can be made vegan. I've tried the Cơm Tấm Bì, or Vietnamese broken rice. This interesting and flavourful dish combines crispy ‘pork’ skin, chewy vegan meat, pickles, and fresh vegetables, all brought together by a sweet and tangy vegan ‘fish’ sauce.
While the food is a highlight, it's a good idea to be extra clear when ordering, as some staff members may have limited English, which can lead to mix-ups. When I order the dish, they initially forgot to make my dish vegan. However, they were very quick to fix it once I double checked with them. So just make sure to be a bit careful when you order.
