As I was walking towards Himeji Castle, I stumbled upon this warabimochi specialty shop. Warabimochi (蕨餅) is a jelly-like mochi coated with soybean flour (kinako) and sometimes drizzled with brown sugar syrup. It’s traditionally vegan.
The 3-piece warabimochi box makes a great snack in between meals. It comes with 3 soft, chewy pieces coated with 3 different types of soybean powders. Keep in mind that the drinks and ice cream are not vegan.
